This piece originally started out as a simple review. But that piece simply could not do this band justice.
Often times, many bands demonstrate musical or personal growth with a complete change of the
style or sound that originally set them apart. Changes sometimes so dramatic, the reasons we originally
loved the music is lost. The Smashing Pumpkins is not one of those bands. This collection of songs called
Zeitgiest, is one of the most powerful and dynamic recordings to come along in years. Often times people
speak of renewal and revival, a simple visit back to the long gone days. Zietgeist is a first class ticket
to those who seek the comfort of the loud and the abrasive. This recording sets The Smashing Pumpkins
up as one of the all time great bands, as well as preserving and continuing one of the great musical
